About MVLA San Jose

Who We Are

Thanks to overwhelming support from the soccer community, MVLA San Jose is proud to partner with South San Jose Youth Soccer League and MVLA Soccer Club to create a complete player pathway. Players can begin in recreational soccer with South San Jose Youth Soccer League, build strong fundamentals and competitive experience at MVLA San Jose, and, if they're striving for the highest level, advance to MVLA Soccer Club to compete in ECNL. MVLA began as Los Altos Soccer Club in 1972 and has been a recognized name in the soccer community for generations. From the start, MVLA has inspired young players to pursue their passion through dedication, determination and, most important, the joy of the game. Over the years, MVLA has created growth, development and college and career opportunities for thousands of players, and MVLA San Jose is excited to bring those same opportunities to players in South San Jose. Backed by hundreds of volunteers who have given their time to the club, MVLA is a true community of families, parents and players, and that community has earned MVLA its reputation as a premier youth soccer organization.

Our Impact

Over the years, MVLA Soccer Club has shaped the lives of thousands of youth soccer players and earned national recognition for developing strong, technically skilled players who reach their potential on and off the field. MVLA Soccer Club alumni include Abby Dahlkemper (UCLA, U.S. Women's National Team and 2019 FIFA World Cup champion), Teresa Noyola (Stanford, Hermann Trophy winner) and MVLA Soccer Club Executive Director Joe Cannon (MLS). Through our partnership, MVLA San Jose players train with the same commitment to development and have a clear path to that level of play if that's their goal. Whatever path they choose, our players grow as athletes and as people.
