- Anika 1 | Mvla San Jose
anika savla Anika was born and raised in Los Gatos, California. At 6 years old, she started her playing career at Central Valley Youth Soccer League. By 10 she hit the competitive side. Her previous club career spans from San Jose Earthquakes, Los Gatos United, San Jose Surf, and her final home MVLA San Jose. She also played high soccer at Leigh. Anika’s favorite soccer memory was one of the tournaments she played in Huntington Beach with her MVLA SJ team. She fondly recalls becoming even closer to her fellow teammates and spending the weekend surrounded by what she loves. Anika got the coaching bug at the end of 2021 after co-leading a training session with the MVLA SJ 2008 Girls team. With her USSF 4v4, 7v7, 9v9, and 11v11 licenses under her belt, she’s having fun working with the younger age groups developing their technical skills. Anika is extremely grateful for her family’s support throughout her soccer journey as well as her former coaches, Jennifer Randazzo-Herndon, Michael Alvarez, and Jodi Washington, who are her greatest coaching inspirations. Anika hopes to encourage her players to truly love soccer and motivate them to work on improving their skills each day. She prioritizes a strong work ethic and balanced environment where players can have fun and enjoy playing soccer while also focusing on mastering their abilities. In her free time, Anika enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She loves to watch her favorite teams, Manchester United and Angel City FC, and her favorite player, Crystal Dunn. In the fall, Anika will be leaving us to attend university to study cognitive science. We hope to have her back soon!
