COMING SOON MVLA San Jose Fundraising and Company Match Policy Purpose The goal of this policy is to clarify the process for handling fundraising donations and company matches to ensure fair and transparent distribution while maximizing support for both families and MVLA San Jose Soccer Club. Policy Overview Family Donations: Any donation made by a family member to the MVLA San Jose fundraising campaign will be fully credited to the family’s account. This means that 100% of the amount contributed by the family will go toward covering their child’s registration fees or other applicable season fees. Company Matching Contributions: In cases where a family’s donation is eligible for a company match through programs like Benevity, the total company match will be split as follows: 50% of the company match will be credited directly to the family’s account, further reducing their registration or season fees. 50% of the company match will be allocated to MVLA San Jose, supporting the general operational needs, programs, and fundraising efforts of the club. Example : If a family donates $1,000, and their company offers a 100% match (through Benevity), the family’s total contribution will be $2,000. The family will receive $1,000 credited toward their registration or season fees. The remaining $1,000 will be split, with $500 credited toward the family’s account, and $500 going to MVLA San Jose. This would mean the family would receive $1500 of the $2000 total donation Transparency and Accountability: MVLA San Jose is committed to transparent tracking and reporting of all donations and matching funds. Families will receive a statement showing both the amount of their donation and any matching funds received. The 50/50 split will be applied consistently across all donations and matches. Eligibility: This policy applies to all donations made by families eligible for company matching. Families are responsible for confirming their company’s eligibility and match terms through the Benevity platform or equivalent matching program.

  • CODE OF CONDUCT | Mvla San Jose

CODE OF CONDUCT In an effort to enhance the experience for all members of the MVLA San Jose community (coaches, players, and parents), we believe it is important to have a clear set of expectations and a shared understanding for each of these key members of our community. Please click on each of the areas below to view details of codes of conduct for coaches, players, and parents. Also, visit the Communication Protocol page to read about our club philosophy on communication processes. Parent Code of Conduct Player Code of Conduct Coach Code Of Conduct WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE VALUE MVLA San Jose values hard work, commitment, and excellence both on and off of the field. MVLASJ believes that its parents can play a vital role in impacting and positively representing the MVLA San Jose community through the examples we set to our players/children. To ensure the best possible experience for our players and in the spirit of good sportsmanship, we expect our parents (and any family/friends who come with them to games as spectators) to be positive and supportive to all players. Parents/Spectators participate in a match by watching, cheering, and supporting the efforts of all participants of the match. Soccer should be fun. The game is for the players; their participation and enjoyment of the game is the most important element. Still, parents have responsibilities to the coach, to the team, and to the entire MVLA San Jose. COMMUNICATIONS A parent should feel it is acceptable to bring questions or issues to the coach, team manager, or a board member’s attention and that the person contacted will respond in an appropriate and timely manner. Communications will be acknowledged in a timely manner (typically no more than 2-3 days) with appropriate follow-up as needed. Communications that are not responded to or handled satisfactorily may be escalated following club processes. It is the parent’s role to escalate items either not personally resolved or those for which his or her player has been unable to get addressed. Click HERE for Escalation Form. AVAILABILITY CHANGES If a player cannot attend practice due to unforeseen circumstances, then that player is required to notify their coach as soon as it is possible to do so. For changes to availability on a game day, the player (or parent if a younger player) should text the coach and advise if the player can no longer participate in a game. For practices, the parent should annotate the change in availability in Byga and contact the coach or team manager in line with whatever expectations that coach/team has in place additionally. CONFLICT MANAGEMENT Should a conflict arise between MVLA San Jose coaches, players, or parents it is required that such confrontations be addressed in the appropriate manner (with respect), and at the appropriate time (privately). While the coaches are committed to open communication with parents, there is a certain process that should be observed. In particular, the time before and during a game is dedicated to the players. It is not appropriate for a parent to approach a coach to discuss game or individual player concerns at this time. The coach will be happy to set up a meeting/phone call to address parent concerns at a time that will not interfere with the attention required by the players. An exception to this request is an incident when a player is injured. The coaches will be available immediately after a game to discuss the situation and any concerns with parents. FEES It is understood by accepting a roster spot for their child on an MVLA San Jose team that the parents are committing to pay club and team's fees for their player(s) in a timely fashion. If parents fall behind in payments, their player(s) may not be allowed to train with the team, and/or may be ineligible for any games while fees remain outstanding.
