- Jenn 1 | Mvla San Jose
jenn randazzo-herndon Jenn began competitive soccer in the third grade playing for De Anza Force and MVLA. Her journey continued at UC Irvine where she graduated in 2015. Post college, Jenn moved back to the Bay Area and began coaching both club and high school. She has been coaching alongside Jodi ever since. Jenn’s main inspiration is connecting with the players, watching them succeed, and grow. Coaching at the older age groups, she really enjoys teaching skills they can use later in life. She is also guilty of hopping in drills or possession at training. Jenn’s fondest soccer memory was in her freshman year of college. Her coaches pulled her aside the day before her first collegiate match to tell her she’d be starting as a freshman for the season opener. The team traveled to Texas A&M where Jenn clearly remembers making multiple 1v1 saves that could have cost the Anteaters the game. She held the Aggies scoreless and led her team to a 1-0 win. Jenn holds not only her “D” license, but a Masters in Counseling Psychology. By day she works as a school-based therapist for high schoolers. When not coaching she enjoys hanging out with her husband Zack, puppy Dash, and her daughter, “MVLA’s #1 fan”. “I’d like to thank Jodi for allowing me to continue my passion for soccer through coaching. Coach Jodi has shared her coaching philosophy and emphasizes the importance of how coaches can positively impact players both on and off the field.” – Jenn

I had many different coaches growing up, won and lost countless games, but I still remember the life lessons they imparted in me. Hard work, always pays off no matter what you do ", he said. “When a player doesn’t believe they can do something, and with hard work achieve their goal, that is the reason I coach. In that moment they gain confidence in themselves. The fear they previously had is gone. They set their eyes on another goal", he closed. Coach Phillip’s favorite soccer memory isn’t from his playing time but of his daughter Pixi’s first soccer goal. In his off time, Coach Phillip likes to watch sports. His favorite team is the San Francisco 49ers. His favorite player is Lebron James of the LA Lakers. His favorite soccer team was the 1998 Brazil World Cup Team.
